A detailed look at the CSS in the new Facebook design. Very interesting to note the number of “hacky” techniques being used, some due to performance issues with CSS on mobile.

Lexend is “a variable font empirically shown to significantly improve reading-proficiency.” It’s a sans-serif font designed to reduce cognitive noise with expanded scaling to improve potential for character recognition and hyper-expansion of character spacing, which creates a greater lag time and reduces potential crowding and masking effects.
